RGR009 - Orochi's Last Stand

Back in the cave near Jipang, the enemies were still pretty tough, but most fights had become manageable. Derangers still scare the crap out of us (they can confuse party members, causing them to attack one another), but that's about it. The cave is suprisingly short, and the second basement level is little more than a path to Orochi.

Orochi took us out a few times with his powerful attacks and super fire breath, but we eventually worked out a strategy. Theron had recently gained a spell called BiKill, which doubles one ally's attack power, so we had him cast it on Brindar and then me, and follow up the rest of the battle by casting Increase, which increases our defensive power. Viron healed as needed, and we were finally able to defeat him, winning the powerful Orochi Sword.

Oh Noh!
Oh Noh!
Is that French?
Is that French?

And he looks mad!
And he looks mad!
I didn't know he had a sword.
I didn't know he had a sword.

Beaten, the Orochi retreated into a portal in the lava behind him, and we quickly followed. The portal led back to Himiko's room in Jipang, where a wounded Himiko was being tended to by a nurse of some sort. I knew she was up to no good, but I honestly didn't expect to find out that Himiko herself was the Orochi. We immediately challenged her again, and the same strategy led us to victory once again. With Orochi Himiko defeated, word quickly spread that the remaining girls in the village were safe, and we were quickly hailed as heroes.

More importantly for us, though, was that Himiko's crystal ball was in fact the Purple Orb! We've finally found one of the orbs, and our ticket to the skies is that much closer. With the Purple Orb in hand, we set out to continue our quest.

Seriously? That was Himiko?
Seriously? That was Himiko?
But we still need to kill her.
But we still need to kill her.

We're just going to beat you again.
We're just going to beat you again.
Told you.
Told you.

Yay, our first orb!
Yay, our first orb!
Maybe there never was a real Himiko.
Maybe there never was a real Himiko.

Give my friends some credit here...
Give my friends some credit here...
No siree!
No siree!

It's what we do.
It's what we do.
No, she was here the whole time.
No, she was here the whole time.

Yeah, you should probably give up.
Yeah, you should probably give up.
Scandalous!
Scandalous!

We happen to like money quite a bit.
We happen to like money quite a bit.

Now then, there's just the problem of figuring out where we're supposed to go next.
