RGR020 - The Town of Izmit

Happy Ryan slime is happy. And Ryan. And a slime.
Happy Ryan slime is happy. And Ryan. And a slime.

After fighting a fair number of monsters outside the castle, night fell, as night tends to, and I returned to the castle town to see if any new people were out and about. Little had changed, though I learned there's a man trying to woo Flora in her husband's absence, which is a bit suspicious. The shops were closed and the king was asleep, but I still had plenty of awake left in me, so I started off toward the cave. Time passes quickly around these parts, so it was already morning by the time I reached the cave entrance. The path through the cave was pretty straightforward, with the only branches leading to small rooms with treasure, so I was back outside before I knew it.

This doesn't seem too effective.

Whoa, that was quick.

Do I look like your husband's keeper?

When you put it that way, yes.

You're a depressing guy.

I wouldn't imagine it would be.

Your dreams are lame, sir.

At least they keep the cave tidy.

You know, he really is kinda cute.

Could've fooled me.
Could've fooled me.

On the other side, a nearby tower loomed over the land, surrounded by a moat. There doesn't appear to be a way in from outside, so I'll probably have to find some sort of tunnel. It was night again by the time I arrived at the tiny town of Izmit, so the children were asleep and the adults more willing to talk about the disappearances. The school staff suspects the children know what's going on, and just aren't talking. One little boy revealed that a man named Alex is being held in Izmit's prison; he was arrested for stealing bread. He apparently acts like a frightened child, and has lost his memory. I seem to remember the name Alex, but what was the significance? Oh, yeah; it was the name of Flora's missing husband. Imagine that!

I'll bet the kids are in that tower.
I'll bet the kids are in that tower.
Play in traffic instead!

Give me a chance to answer, jeez!

I don't like the sound of that one bit.

Have you tried asking them?
Have you tried asking them?
But... I still think we should ask them.
But... I still think we should ask them.

Dude, she's a NUN!

That frightens me a little.

*shudder*

Get ahold of yourself, man!
Get ahold of yourself, man!

Now that I've found Alex, I guess the next step is to return to Burland and let Flora know. Then we'll figure out what to do about bringing him home.

I told you I'd end up running into him.
